Booking First Class Awards with Avios Can Still Make Sense

From the desk of the Devil's Advocate... I'm reporting to you LIVE from the devastating scene that is the British Airways Avios devaluation. We're almost two months into the carnage now and it's a ghastly landscape. Avios are sucked away by without mercy. People scream nonsensically at each other: "Is it peak? Is it off peak?! I don't know!" And the chart itself... so horrific that the only … [Read more...]

British Airways Logo

Travel with Grant reports that Amex is sneaking a change to their transfer rates with regards to British Airways Avios, one of the more useful transfer partners in the Membership Rewards program. Agents sometimes don’t have a good understanding of … [Read more...]

Review: British Airways World Traveler Plus SEA-LHR

As I was saying in yesterday's review of the Westin St. Francis, I was only in San Francisco that weekend because my wife and I ditched our parents to go to London for Thanksgiving. (That, and to see the new Exploratorium.) I've already reviewed our stays at the Conrad St. James and the Andaz Liverpool Street. Today I'm filling in some blanks with our flight there and back. Background on Premium … [Read more...]

Review: British Airways Galleries Lounge Seattle

This week I'm trying to catch up on some past trip reports where I may have offered one or two reviews but not the whole picture. Today I'm covering my recent flight from Seattle to London in British Airways World Traveler Plus. But like all good trips, it started with a visit to the airport lounge. ;) Check-in and Departure Lounge Check-in at SeaTac was relatively swift as we were directed to … [Read more...]
