Hilton Honors announced its latest promotion this week, offering guests an extra 2,000 bonus points on every day of every stay at all of its hotels. You must stay between February 1 and April 30, 2017, to be eligible. (There is still no registration link, so I’ll share that when it’s available.)
I’ve been impressed by the simplicity of Hilton’s promotions lately. You don’t have to stay at some strange combination of different brands or hit ever higher thresholds. Last year saw a lot of opportunities to earn double points on every stay. Bigger bills meant more points, and Hilton offers a pretty high base level already — double points was a lot of points.
This promotion is even more generous than last year’s (for most stays). The average hotel room doesn’t earn enough base points to earn a 2,000-point bonus when using a 2X bonus. So the ability to earn a flat 2,000 bonus on every day, regardless of what you paid, is good news for many people. If you stay for only one night, or if you have a really long stay, you still get 2,000 points per night. There are no minimum stay requirements or a cap on the bonus points you can earn.
For example, a typical two-night stay might earn 3,000 base points and 1,500 Points & Points bonus points (an ongoing feature of the HHonors program that lets you choose bonus points or airline miles on every stay). Then, with this limited time promotion you’d also earn 2 x 2,000 = 4,000 bonus points. All-in that means 8,500 Hilton HHonors points for this hypothetical two-night stay.
Bottom line: this is a great promotion for people planning a trip this spring. Given the large number of Hilton properties, you’ll be able to take advantage of it nearly anywhere you go.
