I’ve made a second update to my comparison of major U.S. airline loyalty programs and also update the PDF in the Resources menu above. I think this should be the last until details for 2013 are released.
A few people asked me about loyalty programs in other parts of the world. Frankly, a lot of my readers are Americans. I think the information I provided is most applicable to those people. But sometimes other loyalty programs do make the most sense for those who do a lot of international travel. I’ll do one and see how it goes before committing to more.
Please answer the poll below to tell me which region of the world you would like me to focus on: Asian carriers, European carriers, or Middle Eastern carriers. Please note that I’m going to compare the programs as though you actually devote most of your mile-earning travel toward them. This is not about “Which airline should I credit a few extra flights to get easy Star Gold lounge access?” But clearly, if a person is flying to Southeast Asia every month, KrisFlyer might make more sense than United. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
