Winners of the National Road Trip Giveaway

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated February 21, 2019

Last week I offered three readers a chance at 300 bonus points each toward National Car Rental’s One Two FREE program, which lets you earn free rental days when you book two qualifying rentals or participate in other earning options like downloading their new iPhone app. I also said I’d throw in $100 for one “Grand Prize” winner.

All you had to do was tell us where you would go with an extra day on your rental car. I took mine from Boston to Portland, Maine.

Everyone had different ideas, and I’m glad I didn’t have to choose a “best” option from over 140 entries! Random.org chose three winners, so here they are. I already emailed each of you with details about claiming your prizes. Please respond soon or I’ll have to select a replacement. Thanks to everyone for participating!

One Grand Prize Winner (300 points and $100 gift card)

JP wants to go from LA to Vegas

I did this once when I was in college, and everyone’s car had their own code name. Mine was “Red Rocket.” Every time the group decided to make a turn or go do something together, the crew in my car would respond “Negative. Red Rocket is off to do its own thing.”

Two Runners Up (300 points each)

Andrew P. wants to go to Cape Cod
Bill in DC wants to go to the Delaware beaches

Disclosure: I received compensation from National for organizing this contest, but certainly nothing close to the $100 I’m paying out of my own pocket.
