Redeem Fewer Miles with the Award Maximizer

Knowing how much an award costs with each airline loyalty program can help you maximize the value of your frequent flyer miles. Sometimes one program will charge thousands of miles less than another or offer a more convenient itinerary. Begin your search by entering the origin and destination airports below. Use only three-letter airport codes.

How It Works

Using the form at the top of this page, enter the three-letter IATA airport codes for your origin and destination. The Award Maximizer will match these to the award charts of 14 different airlines and return the cost of an award ticket. Be aware that airlines list different prices for their own flights and flights operated by a partner. Most discounts are displayed for short-haul or seasonal awards.

The results page also has icons next to each loyalty program to represent transfer partners such as Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, and Capital One Venture Rewards.

Finally, links are provided next to each loyalty program to help you find award space and book a ticket. These walk through information like applicable fees, routing rules, alliance partners, and how to find award inventory. (Some resources are in progress.)

Be advised that an airline may publish an award to a geographical region, but it may not operate flights to the exact airport you requested. I have attempted to exclude most of these erroneous results. To confirm that a city is served by regularly scheduled flights, a tool like ITA Matrix or OpenFlights.org may be useful.
