Special Offer: 7.66 miles per Dollar Spent on US Airways Credit Card

by Rocky Horan
Last updated August 22, 2018

Barclays Bank has been busy in the United States trying to win over card holders from Chase and American Express and in doing so have introduced a number of airline credit card and rewards cards. The US Airways Dividend miles card is one that I do carry and one that I am starting to enjoy more and more with each passing day. I originally signed up for this card back in January due to the pending AA/US merger and I jumped on the 40K sign up bonus, since then I have not used the card. However, just the other day, I got a letter in the mail offering me an addition 15,000 bonus miles for spending only $750 a month on the card each month in May, June, and July!

This is not the first time I have received a bonus point offer on a Barclay Credit Card that I already had in my wallet. In fact, in February I got a similar offer for my Virgin America Credit Card offering me 7500 bonus points. Just like last time, I plan to take advantage of this 15,000 point offer by using Vanilla Reload cards and my American Express Bluebird. This way I don’t have to change any of my spending habits but I can still maximize my award points! And since I will be getting a bonus 15,000 points after spending only $2,250 (over three months), I will be earning 7.66 miles per dollar spent!!!

The #DoubleWideDelight Breakdown of earning 7.6 miles per dollar:

15,000 Bonus miles + 2,250 miles for the spending requirements = 17,250 miles

17,250/2,250 = 7.66 miles per dollar spent!

Earning 7.66 miles per dollar spent makes this one of the best cards on the market (This month)!

What Can I do with 15,000 miles?

15,000 miles is not enough for a roundtrip ticket to anywhere exotic, however it is enough to top off your mileage accounts or help you on your way to your next big vacation. Check out my Top 10 list of US Airways Dividend Miles and find out why US Airways Dividend Miles are some of the most valuable in the industry! For example, ONLY US Airways will get you from the USA to Northern Asia for 90K Miles in Business or 60K in economy or 90K in Business from Central America/Caribbean to India or Thailand. Many other redemption options are listed on the Top 10 Page. In addition, cardholders receive 5,000 miles off award redemption, meaning a domestic award trip is just 20K miles round trip. Therefore thanks to this promotion everyone has a domestic award trip within reach.

The US Airways Credit Card has tons of features and bonus like this one cannot be missed! Barclay really knows how to reward their card holders and makes me happy to be holding this card! If you don’t have it I would highly recommend it!
