Earn 1,000 Bonus Points per Night with Hyatt’s Winter Promotion

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated November 11, 2018

Hyatt’s first 2018 promotion is called “More Bonus Points, Night after Night” and will run today through May 15. World of Hyatt members will be able to earn up to 25,000 points during this period. That’s enough for a free night award at any Category 6 property (there are only a small number of Category 7 hotels that cost 30,000 points per night).

After registering you’ll get 500 points per eligible night at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands, or 1,000 points per eligible night at all other Hyatt brands such as Andaz, Grand Hyatt, and Tribute Portfolio hotels. Registration must occur by March 31.

The Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica is only 15,000 points per night.

One of the better parts of this promotion is that it’s credited per night, not per stay, so people who take few, extended trips aren’t penalized when compared to those who take many short trips. It also kicks in immediately. Starwood has its own promotion this winter, and while double points are good, I am annoyed that the first stay is not eligible.

Stretch your points further by booking a Cash + Points award, which is particularly valuable for Category 6 and 5 properties. These need only half as many points and a cash co-pay.

Even if you choose not to redeem all your points at once, you can add these to an existing balance, buy more, transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards, or even transfer some points from a family member (completely free). Just be sure to register now since you never know when you might have an unplanned stay at Hyatt!
