Review: Puerto Vallarta VIP Lounge

by Rocky Horan
Last updated March 7, 2019

Puerto Vallarta airport traffic is growing and with the new flights and destinations the airport has expanded their lounge footprint and added two new lounges. The airport is now home to an arrivals lounge and two departure lounges. All three lounges offer day passes for 800 pesos (~$40) and are Priority Pass lounges.

The first departure lounge is near the domestic gates and offers a single room with a small bar, a buffet, and plenty of tables and chairs overlooking the international terminal. A short walk away near the international gates is a new multi-level international lounge. This lounge is more convenient for those flying flights to the US and Canada.

The lounge is brand new but offers the same amenities as the smaller domestic lounge. The food option is exactly the same, as is the alcohol selection. There is staff working the bar which will make you a cocktail of your liking. The buffet is self-serve.

Upstairs there are several places to sit including small tables and chairs. There are also TVs at the bar and a reader board displaying all international departures.

Or you can head downstairs where there is a larger choice of seats and more privacy. The lower level offers multiple tv areas, social areas with couches, and private loungers. Restrooms and showers are also located on the lower level.

There is another large buffet area downstairs. During my visit from 4-5pm this buffet was not in use. It was so clean it looked as though it has never been used. It appears as though Puerto Vallarta airport is building for the future. Maybe as more airlines add routes to faraway places such as Europe, this area will be utilized more.

The lounge is pretty basic, but is nice enough. I would not arrive to the airport extra early to use this lounge, but it’s a good option to have before any flight.
