Marriott Is Giving Away 30 Years of Free Hotel Stays

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated November 25, 2018

In order to promote its mobile app, Marriott is giving away 3,750,000 points to one lucky person! That’s enough book a five-night award stay at a Category 5 hotel every year for the next 30 years. (Of course, we’re assuming there are no changes to the award chart during that time, which is… very unlikely.) (HT to The Gate)

Start by downloading and signing into the app. Between March 1 and May 31, 2017, you can get a sweepstakes entry every time you make a new reservation, check-in, or make a service request. Multiple entries are possible. See the complete rules on the sweepstakes page.

You can also submit entries without making a reservation. Up to 20 entries are available by mailing a handwritten 3×5-inch notecard with the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Mailing address
  • Day and evening telephone numbers
  • Email address
  • Birthday
  • Marriott Rewards account number

Each notecard must be individually addressed to:

Marriott Mobile App Travel For Life
c/o HelloWorld, Inc.
P.O. Box 5029
Department 829846
Kalamazoo, MI 49003-5029

If you win, you could also use your points for any number of other redemptions, like free concert tickets and even air travel. My personal favorite is redeeming points for Marriott’s flight and hotel packages.

Redeeming for both at once lets you redeem less than making separate redemptions for a free hotel or airline miles. United MileagePlus members even get a 10% bonus when transferring Marriott points to United. Instead of 30 years of five-night stays in an average hotel, I’d rather have seven amazing vacations. 3.75M Marriott Rewards points is almost enough for seven packages that each include a seven-night stay at a top Ritz-Carlton property and 132,000 United miles.
