Quick Thinking Ramp Agent Stops Runaway Catering Cart

by Steve Case
Last updated October 1, 2019

Here’s something you don’t see every day, a ground service vehicle running wild at the gate. Kevin Klauer shot this video from inside the terminal.  You can see that this driverless cart is running wild in the path of a parked EMB-145 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.  A quick-thinking ramp agent runs his cart into the path of the driverless vehicle. Undoubtedly, this ramp agent prevented major damage as a result of the cart striking the parked aircraft.  The timing of the ramp agent was perfect to stop the errant cart dead in its’ track.

About Steve Case

Steve is a life-long avgeek and a points and miles player. The photo is from my first premium, international award flight in 2012. That is all it took, I was hooked. I used my airline mile and hotel points to travel well and cheap. I am truly an "out-of-the-box" traveler which has enriched my travel experiences.
