New Jet Service Between Monterey, CA and Seattle

Alaska Airlines has announced today,  new nonstop service will begin June 18, 2020 connecting Monterey, CA (MRY) with Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

This nonstop service joins the other nonstop service from Monterey (MRY) to San Diego (SAN).  This new service gives Central California Coast residents new access to the Alaska Airlines route system from both San Diego and Seattle.

“We’re working hard to connect destinations where our guests want to fly along the West Coast,” said David Besse, Alaska’s manager of network planning. “Our customers throughout the Central Coast won’t have to drive several hours to catch a flight from other Bay Area airports. They can stay close to home and fly directly to Seattle, and connect with all the possibilities at our hometown hub.”  Alaska remains committed to offering the most nonstop flights from Sea-Tac, with Monterey becoming the 92nd nonstop destination this summer.

New Jet Service To San Luis Obispo, CA From San Diego, CA and Portland, OR

Also, announced by Alaska Airlines, new nonstop service between Portland (PDX) and San Luis Obispo (SLO).  This service is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2020.  Alaska Airlines just started new nonstop service between San Luis Obisbo (SLO) and San Diego (SAN) further growing its San Diego hub operations.

“We are excited to add nonstop service to San Diego and Portland, Oregon, from San Luis Obispo, furthering our commitment to California’s Central Coast,” said Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines managing director of capacity planning and alliances. “Whether visiting nearby Paso Robles to experience the renowned food and wine scene, cycling through hills and vistas, or enjoying our on-board West Coast-inspired food and beverage menu, Alaska guests can look forward to experiencing our award-winning service.”

Alaska Airlines has been receiving new E175 jets for aggressive route expansion.   Their plan is to use E175 jets to connect more regional airports with either nonstop service or gateway service for connections on Alaska Airlines’ mainline Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 service.  They are also bringing E175 jet service to Missoula, MT, Bend/Redmond, OR and Boise, ID. for 2020.
