Qatar Airways Business Class Review – A350 Qsuites

by Rocky Horan
Last updated April 24, 2023

Qatar Airways Business class product known as the Qsuites hard product is among the best ways to fly. Pre-pandemic, Qatar was voted several times as the world’s best business class.  Even today Qatar AIrways is living up to their name as they have continued to expand and add more destinations and aircraft.

As one of the only airlines to continue to fly to worldwide destinations, Qatar Airways is also the most experienced airline when it comes to flying in a world plagued by Covid-19. Despite the pandemic, Qatar Airways is keeping to their high standards. Some things have changed slightly but overall, Qatar Airways Qsuite still offers a fantastic business class experience. Better than many airlines offered even pre-pandemic. Consistently surprising all guests with an A + experience.

Ready to fly, wearing the mandatory mask and face shield for boarding. Once onboard, business class passengers can remove ppe. Just wear a mask when leaving the suites.

Our flight was on a Qatar Airways a350-1000 between Los Angeles and Doha. The long 15+ hours flight from LAX to DOH flew by, no pun intended. As we landed in Doha, I was excited for my next flight. Not only was I well rested, I was well fed and “hydrated”. Or more likely dehydrated with my liver begging for a break! 😀

The Qatar Airways Qsuite is an amazing product. Offering a luxury private experience regardless if you’re traveling alone or with a group of 4 people. My partner and I had two of the middle “cuddle” seats. Together the divider folds down and the bed makes into a bed for two. We were close enough for conversation and could even cuddle at bed time. The seats almost really do become a full size bed.

Overall the suites are amazing. Qatar’s best business class seat depends on if you’re traveling solo, with a friend, or multiple people.

For solo travelers, many people prefer the seats against the fuselage, a window seat. Be sure to choose an Odd number seat. They allow for more space between you and the aisle while you sleep, making everything feel more private. Plus then you have a table, in addition to the tray table, for food, drinks or snacks when being serviced by the cabin crew.

But space wise, I think even number seats are better. Not only there is more space for movement, but there’s a mini seat near the window. Therefore, you can still look out, plus have more room for movement. Not to mention, with less than 50 people between the two business class cabins, there’s not a ton of traffic.

If traveling alone or with a group, the Qsuites have you covered. Groups of 3 or 4 can move their entertainment screens and conversate amongst themselves. Those in the social distance seats of D & G have a secondary seat which is quite comfortable. There’s no seatbelt over the storage unit, but as Diego shows below, it is a great place to sit while dinning or socializing.

Being a couple, the middle seats were awesome! We were able to sync movies, dine together, and even cuddle at bed time. These lay flat seats are among the best in the industry!

Qatar Airways Qsuite Dining

Once onboard and in the air, one would never know a pandemic was happening. I mean, minus the uniforms and the masks of course. Every time a flight attendant came to my suite, I would put on my mask out of courtesy. I basically left it on, or around my neck when eating and drinking. Service was top notch. Pre-covid service with just a few modifications. The most notable included fewer items on the menu. In addition, some food now comes in plastic wrap and/or with lids. Main dishes are served hot and uncovered.

The wine and alcohol list was fantastic. Some wines start at just $20 a bottle, but some go up to $80. Thanks Vivino for helping me decide what I should drink! After all, I’m paying for it, right?! But seriously, the wine and booze selection was great! I probably drank 2 bottles of the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne alone. If not more!

All food is dine-on-demand. I was honestly hungry, as I had not had lunch and departure was at 3:30pm, hence I had my meal right away. Being a 16-hour flight, Qatar Airways offers breakfast, dinner, and snack options.

Traveling with a partner granted us the ability to try the majority of the menu. Sure enough, nearly everything was delicious. The sliders, gumbo, scramble eggs, and both main dishes were delicious. The only item we tried that we could have passed on was the english breakfast. AKA the omelet.

Qsuites Amenities

Qatar Airways’ Qsuite Business Class offers a range of amenities to make the flying experience better. Every seat also has an Amenity kit. These kits do change designs every few months.  Passengers are provided with Diptyque amenity kits. Each kit includes body lotion, lip balm, dental and shaving kits, an eye mask and socks. Pajamas from the white company are also available which are packaged with slippers.

Each Qsuite also features a huge flight entertainment system with lots of movies. Plus you can utilize the Noise-canceling headphones which are at every seat. If movies aren’t your jam, pay just $12 for inflight wi fi. Or buy your pass before boarding to save $2.

Qatar Airways Overview

Despite it being a pandemic, I must say, this was among the best business class flights I have had. Service was amazing. Crews often checked in on us and made sure we were happy. They even offered to take photos of us and brought us plenty of refills. Sometimes we had to ask for service via the call light, other times, they just walked by and refilled our drinks. Who knew 16 hours could go by so fast!
