Qatar Airways and Alaska Airlines are teaming up to celebrate the announcement of daily service to two of Alaska Airlines gateways. Since Alaska Airlines announced entry to OneWorld, Alaska has been growing closer to Qatar Airways. Now, as a member, Alaska Airlines is expanding their codeshare with Qatar Airways and coordinating with OneWorld members to turn Seattle into a global hub.

Alaska And Qatar Expand Coordination
Qatar Airways and Alaska started working together to coincide with the launch of Qatar Airways new service to San Francisco and announcement of Seattle service. Now, Qatar airways plans to bring daily service to both San Francisco and Seattle. Daily flights begins July 1, 2021. Just in time for a bountiful summer travel season. I’ve traveled on Qatar Airways Seattle to Doha flight this spring and service was all around fantastic. I’ve also experienced the slightly longer service to SFO in January and cannot sing enough praises.
The two airlines already have a codeshare agreement in place, but they’ve applied to the US DOT to expand the codeshare agreement across the Alaska Airlines network. If approved, 160 of Alaska Airlines international and domestics routes will be included in the codeshare.
Currently, both airlines allow earning miles on each other’s airlines. Alaska Airlines mileage plan states that Awards will be available on Qatar Airways in August of 2021. Currently Mileage plan members can earn miles on Qatar at the following rates.
