Review: SkyTeam Lounge Santiago Chile

by Rocky Horan
Last updated February 6, 2023

The SkyTeam lounge Santiago offers a perfect spot to relax before any international flight departing from Santiago, Chile. Located in the international terminal, departure hall E, the lounge is available to all departing customers. Most SkyTeam flights depart from terminal hall E making it the most convenient. For other flights this lounge is between a 10 and 20 minute walk to the other gates.

The Skyteam lounge features all the basic items needed in a lounge. There is comfortable seating, a self-service bar and hot and cold food. This wide selection of amenities will make any wait more enjoyable.

There is even a small area closed off in case there are First Class passengers in the lounge or VIPs.

The amenities include complimentary snacks and beverages, free Wi-Fi, and a range of comfortable seating areas. The seating areas come in different shapes and sizes, from individual chairs and tables to sofas and armchairs. There are even lounge chairs in case one needs to sleep. Yet, beware the three sleeping chairs are directly in front of the windows. During the day anyone trying to sleep in the Skyteam lounge will need an eye mask due the bright natural light.

The lounge also has a small business area with a single printers for travelers who need to take care of any last-minute work. The Skyteam Lounge also features a self-service bar and buffet area. You can enjoy a variety of dishes from the menu, including salads, sandwiches, and hot entrees. Currently, part of the area is roped off and a staff member will make you coffee and provide you with hot options. a buffet with different food items on it a room with a counter and people standing around it bottles in a bucket on a tableThe bar area offers a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and local wines and beers. Whether you’re looking for a light snack or a full meal, the Skyteam Lounge has something to offer.

Finally, the Skyteam lounge does have a bathroom and a couple of shower rooms. Yet, due to covid the showers are still not avaialbel for use.

SkyTeam Lounge Access

Several different customer types can easily gain lounge access. The Skyteam lounge Santiago is open to SkyTeam Elite Plus members traveling on a SkyTeam member airline in any travel class. In addition, all Skyteam business class passengers have access to the Skyteam branded lounges.

At most locations, Skyteam lounges are open to Priority Pass card holders. I was able to access the Skyteam lounge without status while flying KLM between Santiago and Buenos Aires. I have no status, but do have an American Express Credit card with Priority Pass. Most Skyteam lounges, including the Skyteam lounge Vancouver accept Priority Pass.

In Santiago, currently Skyteam member airlines Delta Airlines, KLM, Air France, Aeromexico and Aerolíneas Argentina serve the airport. There are no other Skyteam branded lounges, such as a Delta Sky Club.

Bottom Line

Overall, the Skyteam Lounge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the airport experience. With its comfortable seating and self-service bar and buffet, it’s the perfect place to spend a short layover or partake in a snack before a flight. Next time you’re in Santiago, be sure to check out the Skyteam Lounge.
