Hyatt Offers Status Fast Track with Its Credit Card

by Caroline Lupini
Last updated December 2, 2017

There’s good news if you have a Hyatt credit card and have been considering a last minute run for status at the end of 2017. You can now take advantage of an opportunity to earn status even faster by meeting a reduced number of qualifying nights starting September 1, 2017.

In order to upgrade your status, you’ll need to stay a certain number of nights between September 1 and December 31, depending on your desired status level:

  • Stay 10 nights, earn Explorist status
  • Stay 20 nights, earn Globalist status

Normally, it takes 30 nights to earn Explorist status and 60 nights to earn Globalist status within the calendar year, so this is quite the discount on the number of nights required!

If you have a lot of Hyatt nights coming up during the end of the year, this is a fantastic promotion! Likewise, if you have some nights you can shuffle around and stay at Hyatt hotels instead of other brands in order to have the required number of nights, this promotion will reward you well.

Registration is required by September 30 in order to be eligible for participation.

I personally wouldn’t change things around to qualify for Explorist status, but I would be very tempted to qualify for Globalist. Unfortunately, I don’t have quite enough hotel nights planned to make it worth it.
