ITB Berlin

by Mike
Last updated May 6, 2019

The reason for this award redemption was a last minute decision to attend ITB Berlin one of the largest travel shows in the world. For those of you that haven’t attended, ITB is spread out over more than 20 buildings across the large Messe Berlin conference center campus. If you ever go, bring some comfortable shoes.

In attendance were most country and city tourism boards, airlines, hotels, travel operators, and every other company connected to travel. I visited a few of the airline booths, but only had my camera phone with me. Most booths were staffed by the local German marketing team. For a global conference it tended to be very German centric.

Also around Berlin I had a chance to sample some great (and cheap!) food. These pics are in no particular order, they’re just here to insprie your lunch choice today. Mmmm… Currywurst! 😉

And last but not least… beer!

Overall it was a nice conference and the events sponsored by PhocusWright were helpful. But, like any other big conference, you really need a specific reason to want to go.

About Mike

On my first flights on Allegheny and Piedmont so many years ago, I immediately got the flying bug. After years of traveling I started the blogs and podcasts at UPGRD.com. And, like many of you, I've done a lot of flying for miles and status. I once flew from New York City to Honolulu and back again just for elite status (and a quick Mai Tai).
