DFW Centurion Lounge by American Express

by Rocky Horan
Last updated September 19, 2018

The American Express Centurion Lounge in the Dallas Fort Worth Airport is truly a luxurious airport lounge at its finest. The grandiose lounge in terminal D is only open to American Express Platinum and Centurion card holders and offers a unique airport experience typically reserved for high end carriers or international first class passengers.

The brand new, ultra-modern chic, lounge offered high end amenities including signature cocktails, top shelve spirits, a self-serve buffet, scrumptious desserts, and a day spa which provides clients with complimentary manicures, massage, and facials! Furthermore, card membership services are available and plenty of areas to relax in throughout the lounge.

I visited the lounge on a trip to Puerto Rico, skipping the AAdmirals Club for a higher end experience, and what a great surprise it was! Never before being to either the DFW or new Las Vegas Centurion lounges, I was excited to take the airport airlink to Terminal D during my layover in order to sample the new lounge. When I entered the lounge, I was greeted with a big smile and then after being checked in was offered one of the three spa appointments which were available. Since a massage wasn’t available for over an hour and I had an onward flight to catch, I booked myself a complimentary facial. While waiting for my spa appointment, I went to the kitchen to help myself to some delicious black beans & rice and vegetarian enchiladas.

As I sat down at my seat, I was quickly greeted by a waitress who offered me drink menu and informed me that they had a large selection of high quality spirits to offer, all complimentary! I started out with one of their whisky based signature cocktails and then moved on to my favorite – bullet rye whisky on the rocks. Service was fast despite the lounge being busy; the staff was extremely attentive. I could barely finish a drink before being offered another and my plates were cleared seconds after finishing my meal.

After a few drinks and my lunch, I walked over to the spa and had a 15 minute facial. The beautician and I discussed my facial hygiene and moisturizing habits, offered advice and provided me a great 15 minute express facial. My face felt alive and refreshed once I was completed. I left her a tip and went back to the lounge for another signature cocktail before leaving for my flight.

The American Express Centurion lounge is an amazing lounge and I really look forward to more of these lounges opening throughout the country. Both New York, LaGuardia and San Francisco are slated to open lounges in the near future (April/May ish) and I really hope other major airports across the country are blessed with these lounges. I visited the DFW lounge again on 3/20/14 and the agent told me that Amex is in the works of open many more lounges across the US, but is not at liberty to state where and when!! For now, I envy the Dallas resident and frequent flyer that often gets to visit this beautiful lounge! Suddenly, arriving at the airport two hours before a flight sounds like a great idea!
