Alaska Airlines: 50% Bonus Elite Miles on California Routes

Alaska Airlines just announced a new promotion from October 1 to Nov 10, 2022 that provides customer 50% more elite qualifying miles on select routes. The last minute bonus comes to benefit those living in and traveling to and from California. The Fall 2022 promotion requires no registration and covers a slew of routes.

Alaska Airlines presence in California has grown significantly over the years, especially since purchasing Virgin America. Alaska Airline currently serves 16 California airport with hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. San Diego is also an important focus city. San Diego offers flights to and from Hawaii, the East Coast to Orlando, several intra-California routes, plus service to Mexico.

During this promotion, no registration is required. Just fly to and from California or within and enjoy 50% more elite miles. The flights do not earn additional redeemable miles, but will help you earn more miles towards elite status. Via this promotion, the most bonus EQMs anyone can earn is 10,000 bonus miles.

Flying from Los Angeles to New York (Newark) will earn 2,454 base miles and 3,681 elite miles! A nice added bonus for those looking to pad their status for 2023. Other popular routes such as San Diego to Seattle now earn 1,575 elite miles vs 1,050 base miles. A savvy traveler in the Northwest or Alaska may consider routing their east coast travel via California to cash in on this promotion. For example, If someone were to fly Seattle to Orlando directly they would earn 2,554 elite miles in coach. Yet, if they opted to fly Seattle – San Diego – Orlando they would earn 4,798 miles instead. 3,199 base miles + the 50% bonus on both segments.

Terms & Condition of Promo:

No registration required. All active Mileage Plan members will receive a 50% bonus on elite-qualifying miles earned on flights marketed by Alaska Airlines and operated by Alaska Airlines, Horizon or Skywest that fly within California or between California and other states or countries between October 1, 2022, and November 10, 2022. A member may earn a maximum of 10,000 bonus elite qualifying miles via this promotion. Mileage for qualifying flights must be credited to the member’s Mileage Plan account. Not valid on free or award travel. The bonus elite-qualifying miles awarded as part of this promotion count toward elite status qualification only, are non-redeemable, and cannot be used toward award travel. The bonus EQMs will automatically be included in your elite qualifying miles total along with your standard EQMs after each qualifying flight. Bonus EQMs earned via this offer will not count toward certain MVP Gold 75K and MVP Gold 100K benefits, such as the 50k bonus miles granted on reaching MVP Gold 75K status or American Airlines international upgrade certs granted on reaching MVP Gold 100K status.
