Starting Nov. 19, Alaska will fly nonstop from both Los Angeles and Seattle to Belize City, a new international destination.

“Our guests are eager for more eco-friendly leisure destinations, especially as they get vaccinated, and we’re ready to offer them terrific options,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances for Alaska Airlines. “Belize offers an unbeatable mix of sensational beaches, iconic cayes and rich heritage.”

“Increased commercial air service is imperative to the success of Belize’s tourism, and with these new West Coast connections, we are able to offer convenience and more availability to our guests looking for a unique getaway,” said Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler. “Alaska Airlines remains an important partner in accommodating the increased demand for service to our world-class destination – facilitating travel to Belize so that visitors can enjoy our tropical climate year-round, lush rainforests, mystical Mayan sites and celebrated authentic culture and cuisine.”

Final Thoughts

Alaska Airlines continues their presence in Latin America with extensive routes to Mexico, two destinations in Costa Rica and now to Belize.  Alaska is capitalizing on the leisure travel market that is bouncing back from the pandemic.  If you have the Alaska Airlines Visa credit card, you have an excellent opportunity to make use of your annual companion voucher where the second passenger flies for $99.00 plus taxes and fees.

About Steve Case

Steve is a life-long avgeek and a points and miles player. The photo is from my first premium, international award flight in 2012. That is all it took, I was hooked. I used my airline mile and hotel points to travel well and cheap. I am truly an "out-of-the-box" traveler which has enriched my travel experiences.
