It’s Amazon Prime Day and these great travel products are on sale! If you fly coach often (or have a frequent flier in your life that does), here are some great travel products and gadgets I recommend to help make your next economy class flight more enjoyable (or at least, just more tolerable). When people ask “what’s in my travel bag?” I always recommend these four items. In fact, these are the only four items I ever recommend and I personally always travel with them.
First up, the GoSleep 2-in-1 travel pillow and sleep mask. I seriously love this thing. If you have problems falling asleep (or staying asleep) in economy class seats with limited recline, then you will appreciate this sleep mask. The GoSleep travel pillow and sleep mask will gently support your neck and head and prevent your head from falling forward during sleep. With this sleep mask, I always sleep longer on flights and wake up more rested with zero neck pain. You can read my full review of the GoSleep travel pillow and sleep mask here. Let’s talk about these new slim-line seats and how much we hate them. If you have sciatica issues or problems with leg numbness during flight, then you should really check out this TruContour inflatable seat cushion. This seat cushion is perfect for economy class seats and will give your rear-end a bit of relief from the lack of padding. When not in use, the seat cushion deflates and folds up conveniently in your carry-on bag and is easy to inflate before use. Plus, you can use it at ball parks, concert venues and other sports stadiums as well. Click here to read more and purchase on Amazon.
This next item is kind of a gimmick but if you find airplane cabins to be unbearably hot (especially on Asian and European carriers), then you will appreciate this micro-usb fan. This was recommended to me by someone in the “I love sitting in first/business” Facebook group and after using it a couple of times, I never leave home without it. It’s a simple USB micro-fan that plugs directly into any USB port or IFE system and has a flexible gooseneck to keep it in place. The USB micro-fan is whisper quiet and puts out just enough power to cool you down in a hot cabin. Click here to purchase on Amazon.
And lastly, on airlines that do not provide seat-back entertainment monitors, I’ll always pack my Airhook with me. This handy gadget is a holder for your personal electronic devices (PED) such as a cell phones and tablets. This universal adapter is compatible with most iPhones, iPads, Samsung phones, tablets and other Android/Windows devices up to 8.5” tall. It attaches to the back of most seat-back tray tables and essentially moves your device off of the tray table and out of your hands to a more natural viewing position.
This helps reduce neck strain and makes binge-watching your favorite shows on your device more comfortable. It also comes with a beverage cup holder and a hook to keep your headphones secure when not in use. With more and more airlines opting for WiFi streaming entertainment nowadays, this Airhook is a must in my carry-on. You can read my full review of the Airhook here or click here to purchase on Amazon.
So those are my four recommendations. If you have any other travel products that you recommend, please share them with us in the comments section below. I’m always on the lookout for useful products and gadgets to make my economy class trips more tolerable. Thanks for reading!
