Earn Double Miles on 40+ Alaska Airlines Routes

by Rocky Horan
Last updated December 11, 2017

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can earn double miles this fall on forty plus routes. As Alaska Airlines celebrates their merger with Virgin America and their explosive growth from the West Coast, Alaska Airlines is trying to lure flyers with double miles. The double mile promotion is available on most new routes departing from California and Oregon.

Alaska Airlines Double Miles Routes

Nearly all new routes, including those routes operated by Virgin America, qualify for double miles. Flights must be flown between September 1, 2017, through February 28, 2018. Even flights during the busy holiday season qualify for double miles. To earn double redeemable miles, Mileage Plan members must credit miles to Alaska Airlines and register before January 31, 2018.

Double miles are only earned on the non-stop routes above. Any other routes throughout the Alaska Airline and Virgin America network will not earn double miles. One can connect to a double mile route to earn double miles on the specific segment. Therefore, if someone flies Seattle-Portland-New York, Seattle-Portland would earn standard miles and Portland-New York would earn double miles.

A Mile Flown Is a Mile Earned

Despite what Delta Air Lines tries to claim, Alaska Airlines is the highest-rated frequent flyer program in the industry. Only Alaska Airlines lets you earn one mile per flight mile. Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan is the only non-revenue frequent flyer program in the USA! This means you can potentially earn more miles on a cross-country flight than with any other program!

Alaska’s Double Mile promotion doubles the opportunities to earn miles, meaning an award flight is closer than ever! Plus, with Alaska Airlines unique airline partners, award flights on Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Emirates, Condor, or Hainan Airlines is a step closer than ever! Alaska Global Partners are ready to take you from the United States to the World. Just note, Alaska Mileage Plan is not ready to take you around the world.
