Etihad Mistake Fares to Nearly Anywhere in the World! [EXPIRED]

Update: Although the fare was around a couple hours, it only lasted a little while longer after me posting this (coincidence, I swear!). Congrats to those who got tickets. For entertainment purposes, here’s the FlyerTalk thread with posts of people getting more and more excited by new discoveries.

There are currently mistake fares from Etihad that allow you to fly from the US to nearly anywhere in the world for ultra-cheap fares. Book using Orbitz.com for flights departing February and later. Some examples:

  • SFO-DAC (Bangladesh) for ~$250
  • LAX-LHE (Pakisstan) for ~$580
  • LAX-MEL (Melbourne) for ~$700

There’s plenty of other examples, and these flights are basically available to anywhere Etihad flies. These are Economy only and WILL NOT earn mileage, but if you want/need to get somewhere then this is the cheapest way to do it. You’ll have to fly via Abu Dhabi for these flights, so Australia is a loooong way away!

Remember – don’t book any hotels or other reservations until you receive a confirmation email with a ticket number. Once you have that, Etihad is legally required to honor the fare.

Happy travels!

  1. Gone for LAX-MEL.Or at least, I’m not seeing anything right now (1:30 AM Pacific). Lowest I’m seeing is $1294.30. What other routes, other than the 3 your mentioned, are you seeing?

  2. Can’t replicate the LAX – MEL flights at all, cheapest seems to be $1,100 on Etihad which is ~$300 cheaper than it normally is. ~31 hr total travel time, compared to 15-16 hrs with Qantas. It’s a flight I’ve taken a lot, February is a nice time to go but be warned it’s going to be hot. Think last summer I went it got up to 118F, but it was very dry heat so manageable.

  3. For those interested, LAX-CMB was ~$400, LAX-India/Egypt was ~$500. This was a pretty great mistake for economy travelers that just want to see the world and don’t care about earning miles.

  4. What’s the point of posting a fare that is gone?
