Well, this is annoying. You can definitely file this one under “things I wasn’t expecting to hear on Monday morning.” It turns out that FastTrack SFO, my airport parking lot of choice, has closed its doors. They sent the following in an e-mail:
Attention: Bay Area Customers
The FastTrack at SFO is closed to entering parkers. The lease at this property was lost, forcing us to turn away our guests. It will remain open for exits until the end of July. Our OAK locations, which we own, remain open and we look forward to serving you at those facilities. We hope to find another site serving SFO airport in the near future.
Well, darnit. I really liked this parking lot. Not only was it convenient and fast when coming to the freeway, but they also had a rewards program, where points could be redeemed for free parking. At least I redeemed most of points on a three week stay a couple months back. I’m not letting many points go to waste. The Parking Spot bought FastTrack a few months ago, and I wonder if the new management had anything to do with this lease not being extended.
I’m off to London for a business trip on Monday. Where should I park? I’m coming from the city, north of the airport, and would like to find a place that has a similar reward points program. FastTrack SFO, you will be missed!
The other interesting tidbit is that they will only be there until July. I have had a couple 3-week parking stints with FastTrack, and if I were to have started one of those today, what would happen to my car when I come back in August?????
