Finnair Platinum Wing Photo Tour

by Rocky Horan
Last updated June 24, 2026

The Finnair Platinum Wing at Helsinki Airport remains one of the best business-class lounges in Europe. Reserved for Finnair Platinum Lumo, Platinum, and oneworld Emerald travelers, it feels more like a boutique Nordic hotel than an airport lounge. It’s only available for those flying long-haul or outside of the Schengen Area. This lounge is attached to the Finnair Lounge for business class flyers, but is it’s own unique lounge.

I have previously been to this lounge, and reviewed it and really not much has changed. What is good though is that this lounge is available upon arrival at Helsinki if you are coming in from another flight. As all customers arrive into the international airport and then must clear customers after clearing the airside terminal. Great set up, very similar to Singapore

Access is control via scanning your boarding pass, and if you are eligible the gates open and welcome guests.

When first entering there is luggage lockers to the left and then you are greeted by the large bar.

Help yourself to infuse water, order a coffee, or a drink. There is a full menu with both international spirits and local cocktail options.

I went with the summer signature drink. It was crips and fresh, very refreshing way to start the afternoon between flights.

Dining Area

The focus of the lounge is the main dining area taking up a large portion of the lounge. Here you can order from the menu or go to the buffet. Servers bring food and refill drinks.

As I was in Finland, I did what the locals would do and order a reindeer burger.

Dessert was my favorite, panna cotta. Even better with local rhubarb!

The buffet area and open kitchen add nice touches with a beautiful dessert and cheese station in the middle.

In case you don’t want to sit in the al la carte area, you can grab food, coffee, a glass of wine and serve yourself.

Food quality is consistently strong, with a rotating selection of Nordic dishes, premium wines, and self-serve cocktails that are a step above the typical lounge buffet. Overall a strong food game for an airport lounge.

Sitting areas & More

The rest of the lounge is for relaxing. Off the kitchen is a large curtain which divides the room and space. There are several chairs to kick back here, many with ottomans, couches and a phonebooth in case you need to make a call in private.

There are lots of sitting area throughout the lounge. Many made for travelers by themselves, but also options for small groups, families and friends traveling together too.

Finnish Sauna

The standout feature is the excellent Finnish sauna, a rare airport amenity that’s actually worth using on a long layover. The lounge has full bathrooms and several self booking showers.

While some flagship lounges focus on flashy design, the Platinum Wing succeeds through comfort, functionality, and understated Scandinavian elegance. Plus the fact that you can use a co-ed sauna is epic an true to their culture!

Bottom Line

The Finnair Platinum Wing is the upgraded lounge for premium frequent flyers in Helsinki. If you’re connecting through Helsinki, this lounge alone is a reason to arrive at the airport early offering great amenities for a lounge in Europe. The lounge is open daily for flyers departing beyond the Schengen area
