New York is an expensive city to visit, but it’s getting a little cheaper thanks to the American Express Centurion Lounge at New York-LaGuardia Airport. Amex Platinum and Centurion cardmembers get free access to the lounge, even. Once inside, request a code for two free Uber rides! Even existing Uber customers are eligible. (HT to The Points Guy)
This offer expires at 11:59PM EST on December 31, 2015. Must apply the promotional code to your Uber account prior to taking your ride. Offer only applicable to fares from LaGuardia Airport to the five boroughs of New York City. Eligible fare includes taxes, fees, tolls, and surge pricing. Promotional code will be provided upon entry into the Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia Airport. Lounge entry requires presentation of a valid Centurion Card or Platinum Card, a government-issued ID, and a boarding pass for the arriving flight.
This is a great deal considering the cost of a taxi is easily more than $25 to Manhattan and possibly as high as $50 to some areas. (LaGuardia is a metered destination with no flat rates.) Not an Uber customer yet? Sign up with my referral link for a $15 Uber credit toward your first ride.
Although the T&C state that lounge entry requires a Centurion Card or Platinum Card, I suspect you could actually get in with another Amex card by paying the $50 entry fee; normal lounge admission rules don’t say anything about an arriving vs. departing flight. Still, it would not make much sense unless you have a longer trip or plan to enjoy the refreshments before the drive. The lounge is located outside security on the upper floor of Terminal B.
Personally, I’ll be enjoying the Centurion Studio at SEA and the Centurion Lounge at DFW when I pass through several times this winter to visit family in Texas. The Dallas location has long been my favorite lounge, anyway, especially the Blue Door cocktail!
