Get 1,000 Bonus Miles for Referring a Friend to PointsHound

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated December 18, 2017

If you still haven’t booked your hotel for this year’s winter break, consider trying PointsHound. It’s a site I’ve written about many times before that makes it easy to earn airline miles or other types of reward points when you book. Now through December 31, encourage a friend to create an account with PointsHound, and you and your friend will each earn 1,000 bonus miles. The miles won’t post until you complete your first booking, but you have lots of time. The reservation and the stay can be made any time during 2015.

PointsHound winter refer-a-friend

Why PointsHound? It has two features I’m always looking for when I evaluate a new travel search portal: (1) It has to offer a broad selection of hotels, and (2) It has to have a low price guarantee.

I think those two criteria are important for finding the best opportunities to save money on travel. If you’re limited to a few options, they may be the best price but there may be other equally good options available for less that you aren’t seeing. But PointsHound uses the same backend system as many other travel search sites, so you’re getting very similar inventory. And while you hope you never have to file a claim on a best rate guarantee, when a company is willing to put stand behind its claims that provides me some reassurance. Anyone who pays more than they have to is essentially buying the miles (not getting them as a free bonus).

You can learn more about the site in my previous review. If you haven’t signed up, consider using my referral link and we’ll each earn 1,000 bonus miles. Or if you have signed up, share your link in the comments. New users are welcome to use one of those, as well, and still get 1,000 bonus miles during this limited-time promotion.
