I happened to be checking on my Hyatt account online when I noticed a link to add to Passbook on my iPhone.
Passbook is a handy tool that is available for iPhone users running iOS 6.0 or newer. More and more travel providers are adding Passbook access. United, Starwood, and now Hyatt are some companies that I use frequently that use Passbook integration. Seth wrote up a nice basic summary of Passbook here. Users can get boarding passes, hotel reservation information, and access to their membership information. Information such as departure gates is supposed to be upgraded on the fly, but in my experience that hasn’t worked quite as well as intended.
For Hyatt, I clicked on the link shown above. I got an email, that I opened on my iPhone, which allowed me to add my Hyatt card to my Passbook. Here is the description provided by Hyatt:
Here is a view of the (redacted) Gold Passport Pass from my phone:
Reservations can be sent to Passbook as well. Find the reservation on line, then click a link to send to Passbook. Open this on iPhone, and the individual reservation is stored in Passbook. This is cumbersome, and not very straight forward, but it is nice to have everything in one place.
