I’m a little behind on things lately, but that doesn’t I’ve forgotten to register for Hyatt’s latest quarterly promotion: “Stay More, Play More.” You can earn bonus Gold Passport points based on the number of qualifying stays between January 15 and April 30.
Register any time by April 30 before you stay in order to be eligible. You’ll need to
- Enter your Gold Passport number.
- View your offer.
- Register for your offer (yes, a second step).
- View a “Congratulations” message indicating you have registered successfully.
In my case, I was offered 20,000 points after completing 10 nights. One Mile at a Time was offered a potentially more lucrative offer of up to 65,000 points after completing 25 nights (split into three successive tiers). Remember that just because you may get a different offer doesn’t mean you were considered a less valuable customer. Hyatt’s goal is to match the offer to your travel patterns — of all the industry conferences I go to, the main message is to make sure the customer can complete the goal and feel more connected to the brand.
I think we’re both getting good offers. Ben lives in hotels so 25 nights is no problem. I would struggle to do much more than 10 nights. We are each earning comparable amounts (2,600 points per night for Ben, and 2,000 points per night for me). But if you think your offer doesn’t reflect your upcoming travel, consider contacting Hyatt Gold Passport and asking for reconsideration.
I value my Gold Passport points at about 1.4 cents each, making this offer worth about $28 per night. I already get 1,000 bonus points with every stay when I check in if I select “points” as my Diamond welcome amenity, and I receive a complimentary breakfast in the Regency Club or hotel restaurant. It’s not that unusual for me to check out of a cheaper property and find that I got more in benefits than I paid for the room.
Terms & Conditions vary with each offer, but here are mine:
You must receive this offer from Hyatt and register by April 30, 2015. You will receive 20,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after completing ten Eligible Nights from January 15, 2015 through April 30, 2015. A maximum 20,000 bonus points may be earned, regardless of the number of stays completed during the offer period. For the purpose of this offer, an “Eligible Night” is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate, as defined in the terms and conditions of Hyatt Gold Passport. Hyatt Gold Passport members will only receive Eligible Night credit for their room, regardless of the number of rooms paid. You must provide your Hyatt Gold Passport membership number at the time of check-in and choose points or miles for your stay. Hyatt Gold Passport will automatically track Eligible Nights when you provide your Hyatt Gold Passport membership number. Please allow two to three weeks after your stay for bonus points to be posted to your Hyatt Gold Passport account.
