Introducing Royal Caribbean Group Status Match

by Rocky Horan
Last updated June 14, 2024

The Royal Caribbean Group has introduced an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing the cruising experience for its loyal members. In an industry-first move, the company has launched a status matching program across its brands, including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea cruises and expeditions.

cruise status match

Effective immediately, members of Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club, and Silversea’s Venetian Society will enjoy equivalent tier status on any of the group’s brands, ensuring consistent benefits regardless of the brand they choose to sail with. This eliminates the need for passengers to earn status separately on each cruise line, mirroring the convenience offered by airline alliances and elite status programs.

Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas

This cross-brand status matching initiative will empower guests to maximize their benefits and explore new experiences across a fleet of over 50 ships traversing nearly 1,000 destinations worldwide. By streamlining status privileges, customers can seamlessly transition between brands, unlocking a myriad of possibilities for unforgettable voyages.

Moreover, this program fosters a mutually beneficial relationship between the Royal Caribbean Group and its valued customers. It not only enables guests to leverage existing benefits but also encourages exploration of new brands and destinations within the group’s portfolio. For instance, patrons of Silversea can now venture into the offerings of Celebrity without relinquishing their accrued benefits, while enthusiasts of Royal Caribbean can seamlessly explore Celebrity and vice versa.

This initiative not only enriches the customer experience but also strengthens customer retention for the Royal Caribbean Group. By offering a comprehensive array of options across its brands, the company ensures that patrons remain within its ecosystem even when their preferred brand does not serve certain ports or destinations. For example, travelers interested in destinations like Antarctica or Svalbard, not currently serviced by Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, now have the opportunity to explore these regions with Silversea, thereby retaining their loyalty within the group and not losing them to the Seabourn expeditions on the Venture.

Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, emphasized that this initiative is a testament to the company’s commitment to rewarding guests across its brands. He noted that all three brands boast dedicated followers who take pride in the status they’ve attained through repeated sailings.

In sum, this newly aligned program reflects the Royal Caribbean Group’s unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional vacations responsibly while simultaneously enriching the cruising experience for its cherished clientele.

Members of Silversea Venetian Society, Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society and Celebrity Cruise Captain’s club will need to enroll in the loyalty program of the brand they wish to receive status match benefits. This is the easiest way for your clients to enroll and start getting benefits. This can be done over the phone or directly with the cruise line online.

Crown & Anchor Society and Captain club Member Match to Silver Sliverseas

To take advantage of Loyalty Status Match on a Silversea voyage, you can do this via your app on your smart phone. Just unlock Loyalty Status Match with Venetian society through your Crown & Anchor Society or Captain’s Club app. It should take up to 7 days for the systems to update.

Then once completed and processed, guests will receive an email confirming SilverSea Venetian Society tier once status match is complete. Venetian Society onboard benefits effective on sailings departing on or after 5 June 2024. Venetian Society Member Savings (5% or 10%) applicable on new voyages booked on or after 30 May 2024. Bottom Line

Customers of the Royal Caribbean Group can now enjoy elite status across the brands of three cruise line. Although elite status is shared across the brands, nights which count towards elite status still must be earn on each brand. Meaning currently cruise ship night sailed on Royal Caribbean do not merge with nights on Silversea. Thus making earning elite status more difficult still and not as seemless as we’ve seen with airline alliances.

Yet, for those who already have elite status with a cruise line this opens up more benefits on more cruise lines which a true win for customers looking for something new and different, but who want to retain their perks and elite benefits.
