by Rocky Horan
Last updated January 14, 2018

The SkyTeam alliance has opened another new cobranded lounge in another Hub, reducing costs and synergies the travel experience from SkyTeam travelers at non-hub airports. This time the new SkyTeam airport lounge at Hong Kong was opened by a joint collaboration between China Airlines and China Eastern, but it is intended to be the sole lounge in Hong Kong for all SkyTeam airlines.

The lounge was designed by the same designer who recently designed the Sydney Airport Skyteam lounge, so to no surprised, this lounge offers the same feature and doesn’t look much different. As the Skyteam lounges do not feature any one airline, the lounge has the Skyteam branding throughout and pays homage to the local area.

“The SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport is located near Gate 15 on the Departures level of Terminal 1. It occupies a total of 1,038 sq.m. and includes a VIP room, lounge area, dining area with a hot and cold buffet of international cuisine,an extensive bar selection, business center, TV room, and yoga room. A total of 230 seats are available, available amenities also include work stations; numerous charging points for  electronic devices; complimentary Wi-Fi access; shower facilities and it provides all SkyTeam member airlines with a premium resting space. The new lounge was designed by Mitchel Squires, who also designed the SkyTeam lounge at Sydney Airport. It conforms with SkyTeam guidelines in not highlighting individual airline brands. The design conveys a sense of stylish chic and lounge management is handled by Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited, a first-class VIP lounge management company.

Gourmet Asian cuisine is the signature of the SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. The “On-demand Noodle Bar” provides three types of noodles cooked on demand that will appeal to more than 80% of Asian customers’ tastes. For passengers on long-distance flights wishing to relax their minds and bodies, a private “Yoga Room” is available where they can meditate and stretch their limbs. An iconic ‘Living Wall’ – a botanical feature comprising more than 50 different plant species – which brings a touch of nature to the travel experience at each of SkyTeam’s lounge around the world.”

The new lounge is open 365 days a years from 5:30am to 1:30am and will welcome guests in business class and with Skyteam Elite Plus status from all Skyteam Airlines
