American Express just ran a very public promotion in late summer offering 30,000 Starpoints as a sign-up bonus for those who applied for the SPG American Express card and spent $5,000 in six months. This was more generous than the standard 25,000 points, and we can usually expect it to be offered once a year around that time.
One of my friends at the MegaDO showed me an email he received with the subject line “Let’s try this again,” suggesting the offer is still available for some people. Check your email spam folders if you missed it but are still interested in applying. Note that this particular offer expires on November 22.
