Updated Transfer Rates for Ultimate Rewards and Membership Rewards

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated January 9, 2018

Several months ago I created some tables for tracking which points could be transferred to get other points, making it easier to find those that had the best conversion ratio if you were starting with several accounts. Do you get more Hilton HHonors points transferring in from Starwood Preferred Guest or from Membership Rewards? They’re also helpful for figuring out where you should transfer to. If you want to book a domestic on a Star Alliance carrier, both United and US Airways charge 25,000 miles roundtrip, but Starwood converts at 2:1 for United and 1:1 for US Airways. This means you get twice as much value booking through US Airways (which should have very similar availability even for United-operated flights).

I came across a post on FlyerTalk where someone had started to create his own, so I figured it was time I made a few corrections and remind people about the resource. I’ve formatted it a little differently. SPG is excluded this time because, though it is a popular transfer currency, it is a hotel program. I’ll post a table with the major hotel programs tomorrow.
