In Virgin America’s latest attempt to make strides in the US Aviation industry the airline announced both a national wide double point promotion and a price match guarantee for flights to and from Dallas Love Field! In today announcement Virgin America tells consumer that they should demand and expect the same level of comfort on all flights, and that’s why Virgin is truly the superior airline.
Even though Virgin America offers an upscale product – as a low fare carrier, we’re also committed to competitive fares. We’re also proud to be the only airline at Dallas Love Field to offer a consistent style of service with new planes, three classes of service – including a beautifully designed First Class, WiFi, touch-screen personal entertainment and an award-winning menu – available for every guest on every flight.
The ‘Love Match’ offer is about showing local travelers that it’s possible to demand both from an airline: low fares and a better product. In short, not everything that is better has to be more expensive. Now through March 31, 2015, if a traveler at the time of booking finds a lower comparable nonstop Main Cabin fare on a route VA flies from Dallas Love Field, we will match the fare.
DAL to New York (LGA) or Washington (DCA) fares are currently starting from $99 – and DAL flights to the West Coast start from $119. You can read more about the Love Match on Virgin America’s blog, with further background information on Virgin America’s Love Field presence below.
Both of these promotions are great as everyone loves double points making award travel free faster! In addition, the price match is truly ground breaking, as never before do I recollect an airline agreeing publically to price match their competition and refund the price difference! Virgin America will match the price on their nonstop routes from Dallas Love Field, which include Dallas to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington DC Ronald Regan, and New York LaGuardia.
The price match is a fantastic promotion, but despite the airline not saying this, the “Price Match” really mean that they will only match low cost giant Southwest. As the requirements of the promotion require the matching flights to also nonstop. Since only Delta, United, Southwest, and Virgin operate from DAL, only Southwest Airlines qualify for this promotion as Delta connects Atlanta nonstop and United only serves Houston, both routes not operated by Virgin.
Therefore, if by chance you find a lower price on Southwest, Virgin’s largest competitor at Love field, take a screen shot of your computer screen or smart phone screen and submit a request to Virgin on the same day you purchase your Virgin America ticket. Just remember, the similar flight must be within two hours of the flight you booked with Virgin, be in economy class (wanna get away/anytime fares, not business select) and must be for sale on the airline’s website. Third party website such as Orbitz or Expedia are excluded from this promotion, which won’t be a problem as Southwest doesn’t sell via third parties.
Both of these #DoubleWideDelight promotions end March 31, 2014! And remember that the double point promotion does require registration and is for all routes served by Virgin America!
