Welcome, Amol!

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated February 21, 2019

Amol, also known as amolkold on FlyerTalk, is the guy behind travel blog Points to Point B. I’ve invited him to contribute to Hack My Trip on a trial basis, and he may very well end up joining full-time. I’ve been very impressed with the detail and analysis he puts into his posts on Points to Point B, and I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that we both have educational backgrounds in biomedical science.

Points to Point B is primarily focused on earning and redeeming miles and points, something that I don’t normally cover on this blog. I am more interested in paying for my travel to earn elite status, and the miles are really just an afterthought to justify the expense. Amol is also a Delta flyer, while I am solidly United. There seem to be a lot of other complementary skills and interests here that I hope will provide you, the readers, with more interesting and regular content. Look for his first post later this morning on the new card and app from Wallaby, a company that aims to help you use the best rewards card for every purchase. You can also head over to Points to Point B to learn more about what he’s written in the past.

And don’t forget, Amol was also the creative force behind this hilarious video about the demise of Vanilla Reload cards at Office Depot. Hopefully a good sign of things to come!
