11 FREE Rides for New Lyft Users – Ditch the Taxi & Uber!

by Rocky Horan
Last updated January 16, 2018

Update: Although the terms and condition stated in the email I received from Lyft did not specify that this deal was only for individuals in certain cities, it appears that this deal is targeted to specific cities including: San Diego, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, and Brooklyn. Denver, Boston, DC, & Chicago all all eligible for 10 free rides at $20 each, NYC 10 free and $5. Philly has it’s own promo of 20 rides at $20 each when using code LYFTPHILLY. Please comment below if it worked or did not in your city

**UPDATE 2: ON 2/20 LYFT SENT OUT AN EMAIL AND LISTED THE FOLLOWING CITIES AS PATICIPATING IN THE 11 RIDE FREE promotion. Sorry this was not provided earlier

***Update 11/1 Seattle is now giving 10 free $10 rides

Who actually uses a taxi anymore? Not I! After all I am sick of fighting with most cabbies outside of NYC to use my credit card or cabs adding a $3 surcharge because I swiped my credit card. Therefore, when I am looking to get to from point A to point B, after a night a drinking, while traveling, or just because I don’t feel like driving, I look to Uber or Lyft. I have been fairly happy with Uber, but I find most Lyft drivers to be more personable and not washed up taxi drivers who traded in their lease yellow cab for a leased car like i find at Uber. Don’t believe me, ask you Uber driver, especially the Uber Plus and Uber Black drivers. Most of them are leasing their car from the chauffeur mafia. Otherwise, Uber is alright, but during the crazy surge pricing, like 4.2x while in Phoenix for the Super Bowl or 2x surge every Saturday night at 1:45am when the bars are getting out, I turn to Lyft – a surcharge free taxi service!

The benefits to lyft are simple

  • No surge Prime time (surge) pricing is less frequent than Uber
  • Lyft plus gives you room for 6 passengers, where regular Lyft has space for 4.
  • In NYC, SF, and LA you can share you ride with other people going your direction to cut the cost with Lyft Line
  • Easy to Use Smart phone app that auto bills your credit card – No chase required!
  • You can add a tip using the app, and in some cities increase or decrease the fares you paid!
  • Hundreds of drivers ready to pick you up and speed you off to your destination
  • Real people, real drivers, mostly just working to make an extra buck

I personally love Lyft. I’ve had some bad experiences with Uber and their surge pricing, and having Uber drivers cancel on me after more then 10 minutes of waiting for them to arrive. Since making the switch to Lyft, I find the drivers to be more personable and fun to ride with. Not to mention, I’ve never had a Lyft driver complain about my destination or refuse to wait while I ran into the bank. So what are you waiting for? Give Lyft a try and enjoy your first 11 rides FREE! You too may be a convert!

The Promotion is good for ALL cities that Lyft serves. To enter the promotion code, download the application > select payment from the menu (left hand corner of application) > enter Lyft Credit code “FRANK182029” > click apply. Enjoy your 11 free rides!

*I do recieve a bonus/free rides from lyft for anyone who signs up using my promo code and I would like to thank those of you who do sign up!
