The EVA Air Lounge Bangkok is located airside on the third floor of Concourse F, by gate F1. After security and customs, make a right and walk all the way down towards concourse F. Take the elevator down one level and follow the signs for the EVA Lounge on the right hand side. The lounge is accessible by premium cabin passengers and Star Alliance Gold members traveling on any Star Alliance partner flight, EVA Air Infinity Mileageland elite members and Taiwan based American Express card holders. The EVA Air Lounge Bangkok is open from 6:00 AM to 2:30 AM (3:30 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays).
Of all the Star Alliance business class lounges at Bangkok International Airport, the EVA Air Lounge is my favorite for one simple reason – the food. That’s right. If you are hungry and want to fill your belly with some delicious goodness, there is no better lounge to visit then the EVA Air Lounge. Seriously, the Thai food here is 10 times better than the Thai food offered at the Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge. And don’t even waste your time visiting the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge. The space is small, dreadful and not worth the walk.
If you have visited any other EVA Air Lounge before, this experience will be no different. EVA Air provides a consistently good pre-flight experience with great food options and lounge amenities. My only complaint with the EVA Air Lounges is their design aesthetic – it’s like you’re walking into a Vegas Keno room with an overabundance of neon lights and mirrors. But that’s such a minor complaint and everything else about the lounges will more than compensate for the poor design choice.
The lounge itself is not very large but EVA Air makes good use of the limited space to provide areas for you to rest, relax and be productive before your flight. During peak times, the lounge can get crowded but at no time was I unable to find a table to work at or a chair to sit in. The main seating area of the lounge is located to the right of the reception desk with a wide variety of seating options from low armchairs, high-back chairs and leather recliners.
The space is bright with lots of natural lighting from the massive wall of windows. For planespotters, you do get some views of the ramp and runway but they aren’t anything special. I’m not a fan of Bangkok’s curve windows. It makes it really hard to take good pictures of anything.
Password-protected WiFi is provided throughout the lounge. If you need to be productive, there is a communal work table located in the main seating area with plenty of surface space and easy access to electrical outlets. But if you need a quieter space with desktop computers, you can use the business center located to the right of the reception desk. Here, you’ll find desktop computers, a printer, fax machine and copier.
Most people just carried their carry-on items with them but if you want to store them during your visit, there is a bank of storage lockers for your use by the front desk.
If you want to shut your eyes for a bit, there are two private areas with massage chairs to rest and relax before your flight. Two shower suites with bath and body amenities are also available for your use. I didn’t use them so I couldn’t get a picture but they are individual shower suites. Restrooms are also located inside the lounge for your convenience.
Okay, now for the best part of the lounge. The self-serve food stations and beverage bars are located to the front of the lounge. Here, you’ll find a fantastic selection of both western and local Thai dishes from salads and sandwiches to hot food items such as dim sum, coconut curry, pizza, Pad Thai and authentic Tom Yum soup.
For dessert and other snacks, there are pastries galore, fresh Asian fruits and even local Thai favorites such as mango and sticky rice, young coconut milk and Thai tea.
There’s also a self-serve alcohol station with a decent selection of beers, wines and spirits.
EVA Air Lounge Bangkok overall thoughts
Overall, the EVA Air Lounge Bangkok hits a home run for Star Alliance Gold members and business class passengers at Bangkok International Airport. The space is open, bright and usable with plenty of seating, good lounge amenities and quality food. Sure it’s not the biggest space and yeah, it can get crowded but compared to the other lounge options at Bangkok, there really is no comparing the EVA Air Lounge to any other lounge.
