Review: Asiana Business Class Lounge Seoul

After a very short and comfortable late night flight from Manila to Seoul on Asiana Airlines, my travel companion and myself arrived at the Incheon International Airport slightly rested (we both napped for about an hour of the 3.5 hr flight). Being that it was only 5am, it was still too early to head into Seoul for our day of exploring so we instead headed for the Asiana Business Class Lounge. The lounge is not schedule to open till 7am, however as we sat outside the lounge at 5am we saw the lights turning on and by 5:20am we were welcomed into the lounge located in the main terminal. Upon entering the Asiana lounge, the agent asked for our onwards boarding passes, unfortunately we did not have them. We explained to her that we were connecting on Thai Airways, but we had just got off an Asiana flight and didn’t have our onward boarding passes, so we showed her a print out of our itinerary instead. Once seeing the copy of our itinerary and our previous boarding pass she still greeted and welcomed us into the club; despite the fact that we were technically supposed to use to club located in the other terminal.

The Asiana Business Class Lounge in the main terminal is very comfortable and modern. With large windows perfect for airplane spotting and an extremely high arching ceiling, the large grand room of an Airline lounge is huge and feels even grander due to the high ceilings. The Asiana website describes the lounge as having the following facilities: PDP TV, reading materials, free local calls, Internet desks, wireless LAN, sleeping room, message machine, shoe shining machine, and shower rooms, however as I walked around the lounge and explored I was not able to find a sleeping room. Since we were both exhausted, we decided to make our way to the area of the club made for relaxing which included 4 massage chairs.

We rested in the club until around 8am before making our way into Seoul for the afternoon. At 7 am, hot food was served in the club and overall, the food choices were a bit odd for breakfast, but they more than satisfied our hunger before we headed back into town.

The Asiana club is comfortable and a good place to rest between flights. I would say it’s not as posh as the SkyPearl VIP Club in Guangzhou, but definitely holds its own and is nicer than most clubs. My favorite part of this club would be the high-end massage chairs and the lockers with self-programmable codes, which allow you to store you luggage securely. If you’re flying through ICN and not flying Asiana, I would recommend that you attempt to use this club over the Asiana Boarding Gate club located in the satellite terminal.
