25% Bonus on American Express Membership Reward Transfer to Emirates

by Rocky Horan
Last updated March 22, 2019

American Express and Gulf carrier Emirates have entered into a new partnership which allows American Express Membership Reward points to be transferred into Emirates Skyward accounts. The new partnership allows for transfers to happen instantaneously in 1,000 point increments free of charge. Points usually transfer at a 1:1 ratio, but to celebrate this new partnership, American Express is offering a 25% bonus on points transferred on or before 11/22, meaning points transfer at a rate of 1000 points to 1,2500 miles.

The new Amex/Emirates partnership is just one more way American Express is trying to add value to their program, after a number of devaluation of award charts from Amex partner airlines such as Delta and aeroplan. The good news is Emirates has some great award options and offers a very high end product, but the bad news is their award chart isn’t overly exciting. Later this week I will explore Emirates Skyward awards in more details, but for now know, that the transfer option is available and adds great value to the American Express Membership Award program.

If you have been considering getting an American Express card, now is the time to do so. There are a number of bonus opportunities available, including the American Express Gold Rewards open card or the benefit loaded American Express Platinum  or my personal favorite for those of you who do not travel often enough to justify the Platinum card, the 25,000 point American Express Gold Premier cards which earns points faster than almost any other American Express!

Between all the ways to earn points with American Express and their newest transfer partner Emirates, the world in truly becoming smaller and easier for you to explore for free! So get out there and explore and enjoy this limited of time transfer opportunity to either upgrade or fly for free on one of the world’s best airlines!
