The Loft – Virgin America Lounge At LAX

by Rocky Horan
Last updated February 2, 2019

In December 2012 Virgin America opened up their very first airline lounge dubbed the Loft at LAX. The new lounge was built in the same space that Alaska Airlines used to have their Board Room in T3 at LAX, but the new club was redone in Virgin America style and the airline renovated the space to make it sleek and sexy, like the airline it hails from. When the club first opened it appeared to be among the nicest of domestic airline lounges in the US offering a wide range of crafty libations and snacks. Rohan had the opportunity to visit the lounge when it was fairly new and sticking to their original offering. I was able to visit this lounge in late June, as I had a US airways flight departing LAX T3 and opted to visit this lounge thanks to it now being part of the Priority Pass network.

Rohan has already down a great job reviewing this medium size lounge that is divided into two separate seating areas, and has kept the same bar area and set up as the former Board room. The new lounge isn’t ground breaking, but the deep reds, mysterious blacks, and soothing purples make it a fantastic chic place to grab a drink or light snack before any flight from the outdated T3 below.

Among entering the lounge, one is greeted by a friendly attendant and then enters a larger room with a TV and a seating area. To the right is a bar, seating area, and large table perfect for working or for families.

The lounge has bathrooms behind the opaque walls, but no showers.

Overall the Loft is a great addition to T3, the food options have been downgraded since initially opening in 2012. Either way, the Loft is among the best Priority Pass lounges at LAX except for maybe the KAL lounge in TBIT.
