The Wait Is Nearly Over
CNN reports that Canada will allow vaccinated Americans to enter beginning August 9, 2021. Americans traveling for non-essential reasons will be welcomed by our neighbor to the north. Vaccinated visitors from other countries will be allowed entry into Canada beginning September 7, 2021, providing that Covid remains under control in Canada. Entry to Canada will continue to be prohibited for all foreign travelers who are not fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated children un 12 years of age will not have to quarantine for 14 days.
Canadians Entering The United States
As of this writing, no date for unrestricted entry into the United States from Canada has been announced.
“We are continuing to review our travel restrictions and any decisions about reopening travel will be guided by our public health and medical experts,” in a comment from White House press secretary, Jen Psaki.
The Biden administration has been under pressure from other countries to remove the travel ban for people coming to the United States.
Final Thoughts
I live in the Pacific Northwest and I miss taking a long weekend in Vancouver or Victoria in British Columbia Canada. It’s been a long six months and it finally likes like progress has been made. Now we need the United States to give the green light for vaccinated Canadians to be welcomed into our country.
