Last updated January 4, 2025

Have you been looking for something cool to do this summer? Seabourn is having a special Expedition Cruise sale that is only available to Travel Codex readers. You can explore Iceland, Greenland and Svalbard for 2 weeks for just $8,999 per person for a Veranda suite! There are several departures on sale this summer which allows you to go on a world class SIX star ultra luxury expedition for a fraction of the price that Seabourn is charging.

Never pay full price! ALL 2025 Arctic Cruises are on sale via Rocky (me) at Scott & Thomas Travel.

The Seabourn Arctic Sale

It’s time to check out these sales and explore more with these amazing sales. I am highlighting the Arctic sale and deals here, but there’s also a broader sale happening too. Looking to travel elsewhere, still contact me. I have the best deals in expedition and luxury cruise travel. Check out my facebook group too which highlights even more deals! River cruises too!

For the 2025 season, I have several Arctic trips on sale. All Seabourn Arctic expeditions are on sale— exclusively when booked through Rocky at Scott & Thomas Travel. Mention that you’re a Travel Codex reader for the best rates or email Rocky directly for booking.

The best deals is the May 18–31, 2025, 13-Day Spectacular Svalbard & Greenland. Spend 4 days exploring Iceland, 2 days in Greenland and 3 days in Svalbard. This trip starts at over $14,000 when you book via Seabourn, yet it can be yours from just $8,999!

  • Veranda Suites from $8,999 per person (public price $14,398) V1 room.
  • Penthouse from $15,999 per person (public price $26,448)

Late May is a GREAT time to see polar bears and wildlife. As the sea ice starts to thin, you can spot the bears before the move further north. Do NOT wait until July. You’re more likely to see polar bears earlier in the season than later!

May is an ideal time to visit Svalbard and the Arctic; the weather is warming, but the sea ice remains thick, creating prime conditions for spotting polar bears hunting seals on the ice.

Why visit Spitsbergen aka Svalbard?

First, because it’s one of my favorite locations. But for good reason! But more seriously, Spitsbergen’s location in the high Arctic makes it one of the northernmost inhabited regions on earth and home to one of the densest populations of polar bears. With 24-hour daylight in summer, stunning landscapes, and rich wildlife, it’s a destination that feels like a dream. Svalbard is home to 3,000+ polar bears, seals, Svalbard reindeer, walruses, whales, and Arctic foxes. All this with glaciers and endless fjords as a spectacular backdrop. A safari at sea, indeed. You need to check out Svalbard.

Due to tighter travel restrictions, companies are reducing Svalbard expeditions after 2025. Visit now before it’s too late as Seabourn, silverseas and others will NOT be back in 2026!

Cruise to Greenland Too

Most people in Greenland live in Western Greenland, but Eastern Greenland is one of the most remote and sparsely populated areas on the planet. Known for its rugged, dramatic landscapes, Eastern Greenland is filled with glaciers, fjords, and breathtaking views. The pristine wilderness, dotted with towering icebergs, jagged peaks, and vast fjords, is ideal for travelers seeking a raw, untouched environment — the “Antarctica of the Arctic.”

Greenland ice and ice on the water

Nuuk, Greenland is attracting attention due to airport improvements allowing more flights. Yet Nuuk, located in Southwest Greenland, is far from the ice fields of Eastern Greenland. Western Greenland is rich with Inuit culture and great for dog sledding, but it doesn’t offer the same wildlife and remote landscapes that an expedition to Eastern Greenland does. With no roads in the area, a ship is the only way to experience this part of the Arctic.

The Seabourn Arctic Expedition Experience

I’ve taken two fantastic Seabourn polar expeditions — one to Antarctica for 11 days and another 21-day journey to Antarctica and South Georgia. In my opinion, Seabourn’s expeditions surpass many other expedition companies, including Swan Hellenic and HX Hurtigruten. Seabourn’s Venture and Pursuit are PC5 ice breakers with elegant, oversized, all-balcony accommodations.

Seabourn’s all-inclusive business model is also a highlight, covering everything from daily Zodiac rides and hikes to onboard luxuries like an open bar, specialty coffee and milkshakes, high-speed Wi-Fi, port fees, staff gratuities, and more. Enrich yourself on vacation with daily educational seminars. A six-star Seabourn expedition is truly an unmatched experience. Even excursions in Iceland are included in the cost!

Seabourn’s expedition ships feature advanced navigation and safety technology, as well as luxurious amenities such as a spa, wellness programs and kayaks for exploring the Arctic. Start your day with a hot sauna, attend a lecture on Arctic wildlife, or end your evening with a cozy moment in the Observation Lounge. Here, you can mingle with the expedition team while spotting animal life from the comfort of the ship.

Bottom Line

Antarctica might be on everyone’s bucket list, but I believe the Arctic should be at the top. The Arctic is melting faster than Antarctica. As countries with Arctic territories tighten regulations, visiting becomes more challenging. Svalbard, governed by Norway, is reducing ship traffic and introducing new regulations. With these changes, Seabourn, Silversea, Ponant, and Hurtigruten are adjusting or removing sailings to Svalbard. In 2026, Seabourn will not visit Svalbard at all, making 2025 potentially your last chance to explore Svalbard with Seabourn.

A six-star Seabourn Expedition is unlike any other vacation. You can enrich your mind with educational seminars, spend days viewing wildlife, and witness breathtaking landscapes. As Arctic travel becomes more difficult due to stricter regulations and reduced capacity, this may be one of your last chances to visit Svalbard on a Seabourn expedition.
