Buy Hilton Honors Points for 0.5 Cents with 100% Bonus

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated August 24, 2018

For a limited time you can buy Hilton HHonors points for just 0.5 cents each after taking advantage of a 100% bonus offer. It’s interesting that this offer comes shortly after Hilton offered more limited packages through Daily Getaways. Now anyone can buy points for the same price through June 3.

The bonus applies to any transaction size, from 1,000 points (get 2,000) to 80,000 points (get 160,000). Maximizing the offer would mean getting 160,000 points for $800.

Some good deals can be found at very inexpensive properties and very expensive properties. The inexpensive hotels may not cost much — but they cost even less with points, as low as 5,000 per night ($25 if you buy points with this promotion). The expensive hotels could have room rates of $1,000 or more, so even paying 95,000 points per night is a relative bargain ($475 if you buy points with his promotion). I’ve also found good deals at other award levels. You can stretch your points even further by booking longer award stays since Hilton provides the fifth night free.

While 95,000 points for a free night sounds outrageous as a headline number, these examples show that it doesn’t always mean you’re paying a lot. Hilton also issues more points than almost any other hotel loyalty program. That balance between earning and redeeming points means they’re not so bad overall. A comparison I did a couple years ago suggested they might actually be one of the less expensive loyalty programs.

This chart shows the amount you’d need to spend with each loyalty program to earn a free night. Each dot is a different award category in that program.

Ultimately, buying Hilton HHonors points can be a good deal depending on where you want to stay, and this 100% bonus is probably one of the cheapest offers you’ll see all year.
