Buy One, Get One Free with Alaska Airlines TODAY ONLY!

by Scott Mackenzie
Last updated December 19, 2019

Alaska Airlines is really putting on a show with National Ugly Sweater Day today. In addition to free priority boarding when you wear your ugly sweater at the airport and additional festive themes in the airport, you can take advantage of a special offer to save nearly 50% on future flights!

Use the code LETSBOGO during your search for two passengers. You’ll pay the normal price, and your companion will fly for free (except for taxes and fees). This is even better than the annual companion fare that comes with the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card. That companion fare requires spending $99 plus taxes and fees, while this one is $0 plus taxes and fees. You can’t argue with zero.

You’ll need to click the link on Alaska’s home page to perform an advanced search. Once it refreshes, enter your destination and the LETSBOGO code in the discount box.

I have already confirmed with Alaska that you can use this code more than once. If you have plans to travel in 2020, book all of your travel today. And if you have MVP Gold or 75K elite status, then you already know there’s no risk involved because changes and cancellations are free! (Though you may not get the same discount, you’ll at least get a full credit for another flight. Check out my guide to Alaska Airlines for more information on how this works.)

As with all good deals there are some conditions:

  • You must book today only, December 20, 2019, by 11:59 PM Pacific Time
  • You must travel between January 7 and February 12, 2020

Eligible markets include the following:

  • All flights from California to Hawaii
  • All intra-California flights
  • Select flights between the West Coast and East Coast, including
    • Los Angeles to Boston/Baltimore
    • San Francisco to New York/Boston
    • Seattle to New York/Boston/Baltimore
    • Portland to New York/Boston

It’s a shame that you can’t use this for something like Seattle to Maui (or in my case, Austin to Maui), but no surprise there. People will pay through their nose to get from the PNW to Hawaii this time of year, and Alaska Airlines is still fighting a big battle to win marketshare in the markets I just listed. Consider that Southwest is moving into Hawaii, the California market has always been competitive, and Alaska’s name isn’t well known on the East Coast. But hey, whatever the reason, it’s still a great deal!
