Review: Fairmont Singapore

by James Dozer
Last updated November 17, 2018

The Fairmont Singapore is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Singapore.  Located in the Central Business District, the Fairmont Singapore is close to City Hall, Marina Bay, Orchard Road and other attractions.  There are plenty of shopping and dining options nearby and it is approximately 20 minutes from Singapore Changi Airport.  Public transportation is readily accessible with the MRT (metro) and bus stations nearby.  If you’re looking to explore the city, there is a Hippo hop on/hop off (double decker) bus stop located right across the street from the hotel.  Other hotel amenities include a pool, Jacuzzi, wellness spa and fitness center.

fairmont-singapore-6Check-in at the front desk was quick and easy.  I originally booked a standard Fairmont room and requested a rollaway bed for a friend that was staying with me.  When we arrived, the front desk attendant realized the room that was originally assigned to me did not fit an additional rollaway bed.  Without even asking, she immediately upgraded us to a Signature room so that we could fit the rollaway bed for no additional charge.  She took copies of our passports, provided us with our room keys and the rollaway bed arrived within a few minutes of us getting to our room.

The Signature room was fantastic! It’s a spacious corner room with one king bed, sitting area, working desk, minibar, LCD television, Bose sound system and two balconies. The views were amazing with one balcony facing the pool area and the other facing the city.  The twin size, rollaway bed was actually pretty comfortable though a little short for my 6’1’’ friend.  The bathroom was a little small but functional with an enclosed sink, toilet and rainfall shower/tub combo.  Bathroom amenities included bathrobes, slippers and Le Labo Rose 31 bathroom products.

On this trip, we did not take advantage of the fitness center, spa, restaurants, pool or other hotel amenities but I would imagine they are all top notch.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Singapore.  The hotel is spacious, beautiful and convenient for exploring the city.  The employees were all professional, polite and extremely customer service oriented.  I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Singapore.
