Hurtigruten All Inclusive Pricing
Expedition cruises are very different from larger ship ocean cruises with 2,500 or more people. First, know you are on a much smaller ship. Hurtigruten ships only have 500 passengers max capacity when traveling to Antarctica. Also, when you are on an expedition nearly everything is included on Hurtigruten ships. There are items you can be upcharge for, such as alcohol outside of meal time, or the use of the Spa, but you won’t have to worry about the costs of excursions, hiking, zodiac tours or more. Also, on every Hurtigruten expedition, staff gratuities are included in the cost. There’s no surprise staff appreciate daily charge added to your account.
It’s not just meals and wi-fi that are included, but actually shore excursions too! Enjoy daily hikes, zodiac cruises, and more all included in the cost.
On every Hurtigruten Expedition enjoy the following amenities
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including beverages in the Aune and Fredheim restaurants
- Fine-dining À la carte restaurant Lindstrøm is included for suite guests
- Complimentary tea and coffee
- Complimentary Wi-Fi on board
- Complimentary reusable water bottle
- English-speaking Expedition Team who organize and guide activities, both on board and ashore
Between landings and while sailing the drake passage there is lots to keep you busy. You will be engaged and learning throughout “ted Talks” and educational discussions lead by the expedition teams and naturalists on board. Enjoy the following highlights:
- In-depth lectures and discussions hosted by experts on the Expedition Team
- Full use of our Science Center, small library, and advanced biological and geological equipment
- The Citizen Science program allows guests to contribute to ongoing scientific research projects
- Our onboard professional photographer will give photography tips and teach techniques for capturing landscape and wildlife photos.
- The ship has hot tubs, an infinity pool, a sauna, an outdoor and indoor gym, and a running track
Once you are in Antarctica that’s when the real fun begins. Since Hurtigruten ships have 500 or less people onboard, they are allowed to land in Antarctica. Do note groups will be off-boarded in maximum groups of 100 people at time. Treaties in Antarctica do not allow for more than 100 people to be on land at the same time, to help protect the natural environment.
- Escorted landings with small boats (RIBs) – Zodiac tours
- Complimentary use of boots, trekking poles, and all equipment needed for the activities
- Complimentary wind- and water-resistant expedition jacket – Leave your winter coat at home, you get one to keep!
- Expedition photographers to capture your moments
When you are in Antarctica, you are not just cruising. You get to spend your time on the ship learning. You will have the opportunity to enjoy in-depth lectures on a variety of topics from the expedition team and naturalists. Guests can also use the Science center with an extensive library & advanced biological & geological microscopes available on every cruise ship. This is both a hit for adults and children alike. Plus, the Citizen Science program allows guests to assist with live scientific research. Giving you more to travel. Actually make a difference on each journey.
Hurtigruten Antarctica Cruise Deals
Yes, I know, you’re sick of hearing about these deals. I write about them a ton, but that’s because My own trip on the Seabourn Venture to Antaractica was amazing. It was by far the best trip I have ever done and I personally cannot wait to go back!
Hurtigruten’s Buy One Get One Antarctica deal brings the lowest prices to Antarctica I’ve ever seen. Hurtigruten is not as luxurious or premium as Seabourn. But this will still be a luxurious cruise. With only 500 guests, it will feel intimate. Therefore, if you’re looking for an economical way to see the white continent then this is the deal for you!

Visiting Antarctica is special. So it’s important that you choose the best time to go. There’s never really a bad time to visit between October and March. As each month offers its own highlights. It just depends on what you want to see. There’s different times to head to the Antarctic Peninsula to see seals and penguins and other times to see pristine ice conditions. There are different animals at different times of the year. With the peak of the season being January and Feb. Although you’ll often pay slightly more for these journeys too. Use the graph below to help you determine when you want to go to Antarctica.

Hurtigruten Expeditions is having a BOGO deal which you can only book via a travel agent. Further proving that travel agents are necessary when booking cruises and expeditions. If you want to explore Antarctica for less than $6,000 per person, then contact me at Scott & Thomas Travel ASAP. If you are looking for an Arctic deal, consider looking at this amazing Lindblad expedition deal I also have for free young adults & Kids, solo travelers, or 20% off for adults. All of these deals have limited space on each sailing.
Do remember, there’s always a trade off when choosing who to travel with. Unlike Nat Geo which has a max of 120 people onboard, Hurtigruten ships are larger. This does mean your time will be more limited off the ship due to international treaties which govern tourism in Antarctica. Yet, do not let that be a detractor. Prices this low is are unheard of and this provides an extremely economic option to see the 7th continent in style and at least $8,000 per person cheaper than the competition
