British Airways just gave Miami flyers a major upgrade and I was able to visit just a few weeks after opening. The brand new British Airways lounge is the airlines largest lounge in the United States and it’s stunning! At 13,000 square feet, there is lots of space for passengers to relax before a British Airways flight or a Oneworld partner international flight. This lounge is opening just in time for the winter rush at Miami International Airport (MIA) and at a time when British Airways is only flying a daily A380 between London and Miami.
But why have the largest lounge in Miami? Why not! Miami is BA’s winter stronghold. Starting late October, the carrier operates two daily Airbus A380 flights between London and Miami, making this lounge a big deal for transatlantic travelers. Plus this lounge is an upgrade over American Airlines Admiral clubs and even slighter better than American Airlines Flagship lounge if you ask me.
Lounge Review
I Love this lounge. It’s set up with in a way to provide several different zones depending on what you need to do or how you want to spend your time. You can sit at the bar and watch the tram come and go from the other terminal or sit at a high top table and be social. If you have work to do, escape to a private work both to make a call or answer emails. There’s a dining room that’s casual or lots of places to relax. The design blends Miami Art Deco vibes with British elegance—think natural wood, marble finishes, and plush seating for 220 guests. Throughout the lounge there are huge windows on three sides which flood the space with light and give you prime views of BA’s A380s and other gates too.

The lounge is split into five zones for dining, working, or relaxing. There’s even a Concorde Dining Room for First Class and Concorde Room cardholders, offering an à la carte menu with dishes like wagyu beef and diver scallops with Ossetra caviar. A favorite place of mine, the full-service bar. Enjoy oversized windows, velvet stools, and cocktails like the Prickly Margarita and BA’s signature BA 175 (a gin-based twist on the French 75).

Check out the bar menu below. Choose between wines, mix drinks, local beers, and more. There’s something for everything at the bar in this lounge. Even Mocktails, because we know sometimes you don’t want a drink, but you want to having something other than soda too!

Buffet and dining
Feeling peckish? Lots of options here. Check out the Buffet with British-inspired dishes using local Miami produce. papaya and kale salad, South Florida flounder with lemon and olives, prime rib and more. The buffet features both hot and cold dishes. Plus there’s a candy station for those who want something sweet other than a cookie or brownie!

The dinning room also offers lots of seats for those who want to be close to the food. Plus being just down the hall from the bar, it offers good views outside and easy access to the highlights of the lounge.

No British Airways lounge which has a high volume of First class passenger would be complete without a Concorde dining room. Reserved just for British Airways top elite guests and those flying First Class. Indulge yourself in this smaller dining room with an al la carte menu and upgraded food offerings. Even if you are not dining, you can relax in front of the windows and enjoy this smaller private space. This beats the SFO British Airways concorde dining room, as SFO has NO windows and instead is a dark closet.

Other Amenities
The lounge features two oversized shower suites with Elemis products make freshening up easy. The overall vibe? Boutique hotel meets airport lounge. A great way to freshen up between flights. The towels are fluffy and luxurious. Among the best I have ever utilized in an airport. They feel like luxury. Just head down the hall past concorde dining and take a shower! There’s a shower attendant ready to help.

Need to get some work done? Or make a private phone call? When you first enter the lounge turn right and find yourself in your own private office. There’s a coffee machine and water to help keep you hydrated and energetic when taking the calls and answering work emails. 5 private offices await you and your work.

Where to Find The Miami British Airways Lounge
Previously, British Airways shared space with American Airlines in Concourse D. A LONG time ago, there was a British Airways lounge in Concourse E. So now, it’s like going back in time, but better. The new lounge sits in Concourse E’s satellite terminal, closer to BA’s gates (E20–E33). After security, hop on the MIA Train to the satellite terminal, then turn around and go above the station to the new lounge.
Hours & Access
Current Hours: 1:00 PM – 11 PM daily
- Who Gets In:
- British Airways First and Club World passengers
- BA Gold and Silver members
- oneworld Sapphire and Emerald status holders
- Alaska Airlines Atmos Gold and above flying beyond the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
I should note I was able to access this lounge when flying on American Airlines flight from Lima to Seattle connecting in Miami. As a Alaska Airlines Atmos Titanium (Emerald) I was denied access to American Airlines Flagship lounge. As Lima is not a flagship/long haul destination. However I was able to access the British Airways Miami lounge without a problem.
Bottom Line Review
If you’re flying BA through Miami, this lounge is worth arriving early for. Heathrow may have heritage, but Miami now has attitude. This is by far the best OneWorld Lounge at Miami and I would argue better than American Airlines Flagship lounge. Yet then again, we all know that since the merger with US Airways, American Airlines has not been known for their premium offerings. With better food and drinks than an Admiral’s club and more style than the Flagship lounge, the British Airways lounge is now one of Miami’s best airport lounges.
