Review: Korean Air Lounge Tokyo Narita, a Priority Pass Lounge

by James Dozer
Last updated December 18, 2018

The Korean Air Lounge Tokyo Narita Airport is located in the north wing of terminal 1, near gate 26. The lounge is accessible by premium cabin passengers traveling on Korean Air and SkyTeam partner airlines, SkyTeam Elite Plus members and Priority Pass/Lounge Club card holders. The Korean Air Lounge Tokyo Narita is open from 7:35 AM to 8:30 PM daily. As a business class lounge, the Korean Air Lounge is nothing special but as a contract lounge for Priority Pass members, the lounge will be a nice place to escape from the chaos that is Tokyo Narita Airport.

The Korean Air Lounge is small but offers a quiet place to relax and be productive before your flight. Compared to the very crowded United Club down the hall, the Korean Air Lounge is a breath of fresh air and tranquility. The space is significantly smaller than the United Club but the Korean Air Lounge is rarely crowded and offers a quieter space and faster WiFi. The lounge is one single room with a separate partitioned area for first class passengers. Other than a dedicated space to sit and relax, I don’t know that first class passengers receive any special treatment here.

The main seating area of the lounge is bright and modern with plenty of seating for you to spread out and relax. If you are a plane spotter, there is one wall of windows with views of the gates and runway used by Virgin, Korean Air and the other SkyTeam partner airlines. There are a decent amount of electrical outlets located throughout the lounge to keep your devices powered and charged. If you want to store your bags, there is an unsecured storage closet up by the reception desk.

In terms of food, Korean Air Lounges always disappoint me. There is only one single food station with a small offering of sandwiches, crackers, instant noodle soups and other Japanese snacks. There is no dedicated dining area so just grab your snack and eat it anywhere.

For drinks, there is a self-serve bar station with a mediocre selection of beers, wines, juices, coffee and sodas.

There are no other amenities provided here. There is no business center to spread out and work, day rooms to lay down or shower rooms to freshen up and they do not make any boarding or flight announcements for non-SkyTeam flights. If you need to shower or want more substantial food offerings, you can visit the Delta Sky Club nearby if you have SkyTeam lounge access.

Overall, The Korean Air Lounge Tokyo Narita is a very typical Korean Air Lounge, in other words, don’t expect much because you will be disappointed. The lounge is small and does not offer any of the amenities that you would expect from an international carrier. But in their defense, South Korea is really just an intra-Asia flight away so there is no need for a full-service lounge. The lounge is rarely crowded and the time here will be a nice escape from the boarding gates outside.
