Amenity Kit Review: Qantas First Class

by James Dozer
Last updated March 28, 2018

This Qantas first class (men’s) kit from my London to Dubai A380 flight a few months ago is another fantastic kit. It’s a sleek kit and earns a near perfect score in our ratings. For our introductory post and description of the 5 category, 5 point rating scale, click here.

Qantas has a different kit for men and women on their long-haul flights. The men’s kit comes in all black leather and the women’s kit comes in all burgundy leather. Both kits are stocked with SK-II facial products.

Bag/Container – This kit is clean, classy and sophisticated. The all black leather dopp kit is branded with SK-II black metal zippers and a Qantas First label on the inside. There is a small zippered pocket on the outside and one main compartment that opens from the top. This medium size kit is large enough to keep all your travel size products and sleek enough to take anywhere. It’s black. It’s leather. It’s perfect. Score: 5

Product – For their men’s kit, Qantas has partnered with Japan’s prestigious cosmetics firm, SK-II. Inside, you’ll find sample size bottles of moisturizing cleanser, facial treatment and age revitalizer moisturizer. The products are unscented and appear to be very high quality. My only complaint is there was no lip balm included. I also wished the products were offered in a larger size as each bottle only lasted me a couple of days. Score: 4

Comfort items – The comfort items include an eye mask and ear plugs (no socks). The soft cotton eye mask is large enough for the biggest of heads (literally wraps from ear to ear) and comes with an adjustable rear strap. The unbranded ear plugs do the trick but are nothing special. Score: 4

Miscellaneous items – The kit also includes a disposable razor, reusable toothbrush, travel size bottle of Gillette shaving cream, Rexona deodorant and a small tube of Colgate toothpaste. Score: 4.5

Extras: In addition to the amenity kit, first class passengers also get a set of pajamas and slippers. The pajamas are lightweight, comfortable and are my favorite set of airline pajamas. They are stylish and have the signature kangaroo logo on the chest. Beware, the pajamas shrink like crazy so go up at least one (if not two sizes). The slippers are nice and padded for comfort. Score: 5

Overall, this Qantas first class amenity kit is great and scores a 4.5 in our ratings. The lightweight and comfortable pajamas are perfect for lounging around the house and the all black leather dopp kit is not only practical but also looks great.
