Review: Hilton Tallinn Park, Estonia

by James Dozer
Last updated April 12, 2023

I recently stayed at the Hilton Tallinn Park for five nights and I must admit that I really enjoyed my stay here. The convenient location allowed me to explore the city on foot and the wonderful amenities allowed me to relax, refuel and recharge after a full day of exploring. The Hilton Tallinn Park is located about 10 mins from Tallinn International Airport and a Bolt ride (the Baltic equivalent to Uber) from the airport will cost you less than five Euros. And if you’re feeling adventurous, a public tram ride from the airport and a little bit of walking will only cost you 1.5 Euros. And Tallinn’s most iconic attraction, the Tallinn Old Town, is easily accessible as it’s only 15 minutes away.

The Hilton Tallinn Park is new, modern and beautifully decorated. It actually feels more like a Vegas casino than it does a hotel in the middle of Tallinn and that’s because there’s actually a casino located next door.

On this trip, I booked a basic king-bed room and upon check-in, was upgraded to a room on the executive floor with a view of the city. My room was very spacious and it felt very airy with all the natural lighting coming in through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows. And even though I only had a view of the city, it was still very impressive.

The room was furnished with a king-size bed, desk, 50” LCD television, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, security safe and two sets of robes/slippers. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the numerous electrical outlets located throughout the room to keep my electronics charged and ready to go. Most hotel fridges are pretty useless as they are usually stocked full of mini-bar items but this one was actually useful. I appreciated this as I was able to visit the grocery store down the street and buy plenty of water bottles, sodas and some desserts for my stay and keep them cold.

The enclosed bathroom was my favorite part of the room. There was only one sink but there was plenty of counter space, a large soaking tub, an enclosed toilet and a walk-in shower with a nice rainfall showerhead. Crabtree and Evelyn bath and body products were provided for your use.

Hotel amenities included an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and a fitness room. The indoor pool area was very popular every day/night and there were plenty of people in there as it offered a great space to relax year-round. The pool was heated and the relaxation area offered a nice place to rest in between the steam room and sauna and the jacuzzi was perfect after a long day of walking around Old Town.

For a hotel gym, the fitness center wasn’t bad. There were some treadmills, free weights and a couple of benches. It wasn’t anything special but it had enough for a quick hotel workout.

Hilton Tallinn Park Honors Gold and Diamond Benefits

There is an Executive Lounge located on the 11th floor, but it’s currently closed due to Covid. However, lounge benefits were provided to those who qualify at the on-site restaurant. Instead of holding breakfast and happy hour in a small, confined space, the Hilton Tallinn Park decided to cordon off a section of their on-site restaurant for Executive Lounge guests. I really liked this concept because the restaurant itself was much larger than the Executive Lounge and it allowed for people to be more spread out.

A nightly happy hour was provided for Executive Lounge members from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with some drinks and light bites such as egg rolls, potato wedges, chicken schnitzel, meatballs, etc.

A full breakfast buffet was also provided for Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond guests and let me tell you, it was great. It’s been so long since I’ve eaten at a buffet and I actually forgot how much I appreciated them. I loved the omelet station and there was so much food to choose from. It bums me out to know that Hilton won’t be offering this breakfast perk for Gold and Diamond members in the States anymore.

Hilton Tallinn Park Bottom Line

The Hilton Tallinn Park is a great hotel located in the heart of Tallinn. It’s centrally located within walking distance of Old Town and there are plenty of shops and restaurants located nearby. The hotel is beautiful; not what you would expect to find in the middle of an old city, and it offers plenty of comfortable amenities at a very reasonable price point. And most importantly, even during Covid, the hotel has found a way to reward elite members with great perks and benefits to make their stay even more enjoyable. I really appreciated the free breakfast buffet every morning and the happy hour was great after a long day of walking around town.
